HONOR ROLL BRICKS AT BRADYS BEND
The Honor Roll at Brady’s Bend has more bricks, and there’s room for lots more. The American Legion members have done some landscaping and will again hold a community Memorial Day service at the Honor Roll.
When the Honor Roll was updated and rededicated several years ago, the old markers with the names of veterans were replaced with a dedication to all veterans.
Several people had asked about having a listing of names added. We found a source of commemorative bricks and our project began in 2005. The bricks we’ve received so far are on display on either side of the walkway.
For a donation of $30, a 4"x8" paving brick with the veteran’s name and branch of service (up to 3 lines of 14 letters and spaces each) can be purchased and installed. The qualifications for inclusion are simple. The veteran could have gone to service from the Brady’s Bend area or returned from service to become a resident of the area. Any period of service can be recognized, not just wartime service. All branches of service, including Allied service, will be recognized (for instance, RAF or Canadian infantry service in WWII).
We would love to be able to provide memorials to all, so please consider a generous additional donation to help with this project. We thank David Lewis, Crist Henderson and Debbie McCanna for contributing to this cause in 2010, and to Anthony Pezzuti for setting the bricks.
To honor a veteran, make your check payable to Brady’s Bend Historical Society. If you are honoring a specific veteran, enclose the following, PRINTED IN CAPITAL BLOCK LETTERS:

Mail your check and information to BBHS,
